Monday, May 30th (Memorial Day) – Warm weather comes to much of the Great Lakes, Midwest, Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions with a high HRFI

Memorial Day will bring very warm weather to much of the Great Lakes, Midwest, Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions and this will result in a high Home Run Forecast index (HRFI) value in many locations.  Temperatures will flirt with the 90 degree mark for highs in many spots to go along with plenty of sunshine as high pressure is in control. The weather conditions in these warm locations today should be quite favorable for the ball to travel. Some of the cities featuring high HRFI values today where there are home games include: Chicago (Cubs), St. Louis, Cleveland, Boston, Philadelphia and New York (Mets). In fact, in some spots the HRFI reaches the maximum value of 10 for the first time this season.  Meanwhile, in the western US, colder-than-normal conditions remain in many areas.  In Denver, the HRFI will remain on the low-to-medium side today with highs confined to the 60’s. One final word, thank you to all the Veterans out there and please all enjoy the Memorial Day holiday. (Temperature plot courtesy NOAA, tropicaltidbits.com)
